Editorials and Reviews

Over the past three months, A Tale of the Howe has received outstanding reviews in a number of publications including The Living Tradition, Scottish Memories, The Scots Magazine and The Scotland Magazine. In addition, Angus libraries and Visit Scotland Grampian and Angus have offered to market the CD at outlets in Montrose and Brechin. Friends of the Grassic Gibbon Centre

During March, a selection of songs from A Tale of the Howe was presented to the Friends of the Grassic Gibbon Centre at their annual dinner. The main guest of honour at the event was the daughter of Lewis Grassic Gibbon, Raey Martin, who expressed her appreciation of the album and our surprise rendering of her mother's favourite song, Rowan Tree.

Repeat Performance at the Grassic Gibbon Centre

After the successful launch of "A Tale of the Howe" at the Grassic Gibbon Centre in November, a request has been received to perform a mini production for the Friends of the Centre on 25 March and a repeat full performance in May 2006.

Debut Performance

A Tale of the Howe is being performed at the Arbuthnott Parish Hall, located next to the Grassic Gibbon Centre, on the evening of 26 November 2005. The performance will be the headline event at The Howe 2005 Festival which is taking place throughout the County during that weekend. It promises to be an exciting event with the Tale being followed by a haggis, neeps and tatties supper and a ceilidh dance.

The Path of Man shorlisted for Burnsong Contest

The Path of Man was shorlisted in the top 40, out of over 800 contributions, for the Burnsong contest run by Dumfries and Galloway Arts Trust during the autumn of 2005.
